Dear Mr. Nance:

My thanks for your thoughtfulness in sending your letter and the pictures of your Lincoln sculptures. I have set them aside to look at them from time to time. They are wonderful.

I like both of them, but the older Lincoln is the one I like better.  That is, obviously, a matter of taste.

It is simply that the older Lincoln is the one who contributed so much to the nation, and the younger Lincoln is the Lincoln who contributed so much to the older Lincoln.

I wish you the best in your endeavors.
